Tom Parker, founder of High View Music, Inc., is an organist, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter whose first songs were written in the 1960’s, when he was a student at St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore. He began playing church music as an organist at Junior Seminary and, after learning guitar in college, performed at some of the first folk services in Maryland and Virginia. He is currently Principal Organist at St. Dominic’s Church in Washington, DC, and an independent database consultant. Tom graduated from St. Mary's Seminary in 1968 with a degree in Philosophy and received his Master's Degree in Music in 1974 from Catholic University. He was Music Director at St. Mark's Church in Vienna, Virginia for 14 years and has also served at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Raleigh, North Carolina, Holy Spirit Church in Annandale, Virginia, St. John's Church in Clinton, Maryland, and Blessed Sacrament Church in Alexandria, Virginia. After working full time in Church Music for 21 years, Tom moved to North
Carolina, where he found employment with a call center supporting GTE Mobilnet
(now part of Verizon Wireless) doing statistics. He eventually developed a
reporting system for all of that company's customer support centers, and then
went into business as an independent specialist in Call Center reporting.
After moving back to Virginia in 1999, Tom has continued his consulting work
alongside freelance musical work. |
